How To Create A Plus Size Capsule Wardrobe

Lately, I've been thinking about downsizing my closet. Before you think I sound bananas (because hello, plus size clothes are amazing), let me tell you a bit about why I want to do so. If you didn't know, I'm a freelance writer. This means that I'm basically a hermit. There are days that I stay in my pajamas from dawn to dusk and see no one besides my husband. Basically, I don't need a closet full of clothes that I never well. Enter the plus size capsule wardrobe.

What is a capsule wardrobe? The capsule wardrobe is a seasonal set of clothing items you consider essential. While the number of items vary, basically, it means paring down your wardrobe to your staple pieces that will be able to mix and match seamless. This means you have less pieces but more outfit options.

As someone who is in love with neutrals and staples, the capsule wardrobe sounds perfect to me, and I'm working my way toward one for winter. The capsule wardrobe should help me be a bit more minimalist, free up space in my closet, and curb my shopping habits.

What do you need for a plus size capsule wardrobe? I've a free basics that I feel as essential to your winter plus size capsule wardrobe.

For a capsule wardrobe, the idea is investment pieces, but not all of us have investment piece money, and that's fine. These skinny plus size jeans are a totally classic wash in a classic style for a great price.
